Traded X3 xDrive30i in for a Sportier version of the SUV. Definitely way more sportier with 473hp. The 21i wheels make the car look more aggressive. With spirited driving and a pretty good commute on highway to work I am getting 20.7 mpg, better than what is was rated at. But I got 30 mpg in the Turbo 4 on the other X3 so both exceeded expectations. The M seats are more comfortable by a little over the 30i. Having programmable M buttons on the steering wheel were a great idea! A stiffer ride than the x30i but that was expected and is not uncomfortable by any means. The X3 has many versions to pick from so depending on what you want it is a great vehicle.

    • So fast, but so uncomfortable

Cannot stress enough how fast the X3 M really is. The engine is a dream and you really can't beat the performance and space the X3 platform brings. That being said, the ride quality is legitimately unbearable. Despite having 3 different suspension settings, the difference between 'comfort' and 'sport plus' is not even noticeable. If you live in a cold climate or a city where road maintenance is not a priority, this car will destroy you in a matter of days. For the life of me I cannot fathom how BMW let this car go out of the factory with ride quality like this. I understand it's an M car, but who is really bringing an SUV to the track? If the X3 M had the suspension setup of a X3 M40i that would be a game changer.
